How to electronically sign a PDF (without printing it)

Most people still print PDFs out of habit rather than necessity. You print the contract, sign with a pen, scan it back, email it. Which method gives you a legally valid signature?

Under the ESIGN Act and UETA, what makes a signature legally valid isn't the method — it's intent, attribution, and integrity. For anything where a signer's identity might later be disputed (contracts, NDAs, employment agreements), use a platform that records email, IP address, timestamp, and a SHA-256 document hash. A drawn annotation has none of those records attached to it.
